Abstract
In order to strengthen the prevention and treatment of the mercury pollution in a coal chemicalplantareainChina,thegeostatisticswasusedtoanalyzethedistributionofmercuryinacoal chemicalplantinNorthwestChinaandtoassessthehumanhealthriskaccordingly* Theaveragemercu⁃ rycontentinthesoilofcoalchemicalplantwas0*092mg/kg,whichwas4*4timeshigherthanthelo⁃ calbackgroundvalue,andpresentedanobviousenrichmentphenomenon* Duetothenoncarcinogenic riskmainlythroughmouth,theaveragevalueof0*093couldnotbethreateningtothehumanhealth* Theriskdistributiondiagramofthechemicalplantdemonstratesthattheriskcentralarealocatedatthe southwestofthepowerunit,whichfeaturedasanellipseshapeanddiffusedbygradesfromthecenter* Itillustratesthatthecontrolofthecoal⁃firedfluegasisthekeytothepreventionofthepollutioninthe coalchemicalplantarea*
