Abstract
Finedetectionforthedeformationfailureofoverburdenstratacausedbyundergroundmining mayprovidereliableguidanceforsafety,highefficientandgreencoalmining*Firstly,theprincipleofo⁃ verburdendetectionbasedontimelapsehighdensityresistivitymethodwasinvestigated*Then3Dgeo⁃ logic⁃geophysicalmodelsofoverburdenstratabeforeandafterminingwereconstructed,andthecorre⁃ sponding numerical simulation was carried out by using these models*It is demonstrated that deformationfailureofoverburdenstrataishourglass⁃likeintheresistivitychangerateprofileandorifice istheseparatrixbetweenthefracturedzoneandthebendingzone*Furthermore,fieldtestswerecarried out,resultsshowthatthesurfacesubsidencecausedpositiveanomalyandprecipitationcausednegative anomalyintheresistivitychangerateprofile*Basedonthehourglass⁃likeanomalymorphologyandkeystratumlayer,theheightoffracturedzonewasdeterminedtobe98m*Finally,theresultsfromtime lapsedetectionwereverifiedbydrillingresults*
