Professor Peng has been engaging in the work of the geophysical prospecting of mining geology and mining engineering. He made prominent achievements in disaster source survey, equipment research and application. Besides, he made a series of innovative achievements in fuel cell power generation technology as well as CO2 capture and storage. Professor Peng has been in charge of a number of major national scientific research and industrialization projects, 38 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research and major engineering projects. He published and issued monographs such as Engineering Geology for Underground Rocks and 148 papers on SCI and EI journals. He researched and developed mine geological radar products, multi-wave seismograph and conducted related software applications. He has won one second-class award of the State Science and Technology Advancement Award, four second-class award of the State Technological Innovation Award, as well as one special award, one first class award, and four second class awards for provincial and ministerial-level Award of Technological Innovation as the first awardee. Additionally, he got five software copyrights and 18 invention patents. He is the leading expert in the national coal industry, awardee of the National Science Fund for Outstanding Youths and the Trans-century Talent Fund by the Ministry of Education. In 2000 he was recommended into the first-level and second-level training program for millions of talents organized by seven ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Personnel. In 2002 he was entitled as the Supervisor of the Excellent PhD Dissertation. In 2004 he received the Energy Award of Sun Yueqi and the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award of Chinese Academy of Engineering. In 2009, he was elected as the outstanding field science worker by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Professor Dai received his doctoral degree at China University of Mining and Technology in 2002. His research interests lie in coal geology, coal geochemistry, and coal-hosted critical metal ore deposits. He published over 180 research papers, co-authored/edited five books, and edited eight special issues for international journals. He received the first-class award of The Society for Organic Petrology John Castano Award (2021) and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China (2007).


Yixin Zhao

Professor Zhao received his BA at China University of Mining and Technology in 2001 and his doctoral degree at China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing in 2006. He was also a visiting scholar at Queen’s University (Canada), The Pennsylvania State University (USA), The University of New South Wales (Australia), The University of Queensland (Australia), The University of Western Australia (Australia), Technical University of Clausthal (Germany), Technical University of Freiberg (Germany), University of Aberdeen (UK).

Zhao has been engaging in the work of rock mechanics in energy development and mining engineering, including pore structure characterization, rock failure, fluid flow in unsaturated rocks, coal burst, applications of X-ray computed tomography and neutron radiography for geomaterials as well as numerical simulation. He was the winner of the Excellent Young Scientist Award in Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering, and of the Second Prize for Technological Invention Award by the Ministry of Education. He was elected as the Distinguished Young Scientist in Chinese Universities of Mining, Petroleum and Safety Sciences. He also won the Sun Yueqi Youth Science and Technology Award, the New Century Excellent Talents Award conferred by the Ministry of Education and the Beijing Youth Science and Technology Talents Award. Zhao has authored 5 books and over 210 refereed journal papers.
