Abstract:
At present, numerical simulation of strata movement in the coal industry in China mainly depends on foreign universal commercial software, possessing some defects, such as low computational efficiency, small computational scale and less apparent mining characteristics. This paper introduces principles and unique features of the self-developed parallel computing system of strata movement (StrataKing). The computing efficiency and scale have been significantly improved through GPU parallel computing. For example, the number of elements can reach 10 times the foreign universal commercial software. New breakthroughs of StrataKing include swelling of elements detached from the roof, progressive unloading for excavation of tunnel and coal, and simultaneous mining and filling under support, and were used to model strata movements of the 110 mining method, longwall mining method and backfill mining method. For the 110 mining method, the roadway is not has basically destroyed, and the maximum displacement of the retained left roof is 0.103m, consistent with the observation in situ. For the longwall mining method, coal mass in a certain range near two sides of the working face is fractured, and stress is transferred far away from the working face, so roadways can be excavated at cracking locations. For the backfill mining method, the maximum displacement of upper surface and the ratio of the maximum displacement of upper surface to the mining height is reduced by 56.52 % and 55.55 % respectively, several cracked stratas remain unbroken, compared with the unbackfilled model.
